An elegant and glamorous awards dinner for a Financial Services sector client in Central London. The event at The Carlton Tower Jumeriah featured a drinks reception, fine dining, entertainment, and an awards ceremony, resulting in a happy client and repeat business from attendees.

Services Offered

Our client was looking for a corporate events planner with experience in high-end international clientele and events management in the Financial Services sector. G&D ticked both boxes. To kick things off, they were looking to put together an annual awards dinner, catering to a global audience in Central London. Their preference was to use an established luxury hotel as the venue, as it meant that their guests would know to expect a certain level of excellence at the awards ceremony. With that in mind, we selected The Carlton Tower Jumeriah in Knightsbridge. It was a perfect fit.



How We Delivered


The evening began with a glamorous drinks reception in the foyer Garden Rooms, featuring delicious canapés, to encourage a little light networking. Then, when the moment came for the awards to begin, guests made their way into the elegant, modern ballroom where the dinner and ceremony were to be held.


G&D hosts showed guests to their pre-arranged table seats with their peers and colleagues. These tables — and the surroundings — were adorned with beautiful floral arrangements, orchestrated by G&D. We also helped to design and make over the stage; aligned with the client’s brief, the stage was white, clean and simple, featuring a branded lectern where the MC stood to narrate the awards.

As the evening progressed, three courses of fabulous fine dining were served, and high-quality wine flowed. There were intervals of entertainment too — including a live band and a comedian. As the winners were announced, and once they had given their acceptance speeches, they gave an interview to camera, which would be edited later for the client’s online magazine.


Roaming microphones, quick lapel mic changes, and even translators were needed for some of the speakers; this event was a technical and logistical challenge. To keep things running smoothly, we had to make quick decisions and adaptations on the spot. Our team was fantastic though, and we really pulled it off. The awards ceremony resulted in a very happy client, and not only repeat business, but business from the attendees too. We think that speaks volumes.
